Wildlife isn’t having an easy time. Reports detailing the demise of the natural world are being released with alarming frequency. We are told we’re in the midst of the sixth mass extinction of the past half-billion years. The last one was 65 million years ago and took out the dinosaurs. It’s hard to appreciate how incredibly rare mass extinctions are. Try just counting to 65 million – it will take you up to 10 years, and that’s assuming no breaks for minor inconveniences like sleeping or eating!
