The Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan’s unique Gross National Happiness (GNH) index has risen with the opening of three luxury lodges by Six Senses Bhutan. Located in Thimpu, Punakha and Paro, the three retreats will be joined by two more lodges in Gangtey and Bumthang this year, offering guests a deeply immersive experience in wellness, nature, sustainability and out-of-the-ordinary adventures in the so-called Land of the Thunder Dragon. Set in the west and central valleys of Bhutan, the lodges will respect Bhutan’s traditional architectural, design and cultural heritage with spirit-lifting experiences from sunrise meditation to wellness treatments, astrology readings and nature hikes through pristine forests.
