Landmark dance for Adelaide Fest

THE 2020 Adelaide Festival is presenting two landmark but very different contemporary dance programs.

One is Lyon Opera Ballet from France which, despite its name, bringing together American Lucinda Childs, Belgian Anne Teresa De Keermaeker and Frenchwoman Maguy Marin, all of whom established their reputations in the 70s and 80s. Over the years each has taken on the challenge of creating a work to Beethoven’s enigmatic and difficult for strings, though each creation is to a different recording and quite different from the other. This program brings the three together in what promises to be a fascinating comparison.
