Under water wings! Well what’s new about them? you may wonder still. Hydrofoils have been deployed for nearly a century which thanks to the lift effect generated by the wings themselves when travelling at some speed, they surface right out of the water. Today after the historic sight of “flying” catamarans’ seen in the course of past editions of the America’s Cup contending yachts, foils are consolidated reality and have become familiar objects in the yachting scene in general.
