This needs more books in the series, damnit!!
Really, wonderful. Words fail me.

Sam, Grace and Cole must save the wolves, once things warm up enough for Grace and Cole can get a microscope and Sam can make the switch from songwriting to reciting German poetry. It's all sweet and ridiculous and even exciting as I slept in on a Sunday, listening to the last installments.

WHAT A JOURNEY
I have to admit, this series kind of got me into werewolves. I love the world created, and the "rules" of the werewolves. The characters are all unique, with very distinct voices: the strongest part of this series is how the mismatch of characters all somehow fit together to create a misfit family. The bonds between everyone are very strong, and easy to see, although sometimes not easy to understand. The writing isn't as sophisticated as Stiefvater's later works, but it's clean and clear and filled with lines that make your heart skip.
Yeah, things do just kind of "fall into place," and maybe it ends a bit too perfectly, but sometimes all we want is a happy ending. I'm here for it.

The story was good. The lead up to the big climax was well written and kept me interested. The climax was great, I'm a little disappointed about Beck, but I kind of expected too. It's the ending that disappointed me. It was ambiguous and I hate those kinds of endings. Three books we shared with Sam and Grace and they don't get their happy ending?! Maybe it's because secretly I am sap at heart, but I feel that after everything they went through Sam and Grace--even Cole--deserved a happily ever after. Instead we get an open-ended ending. It was kind of cruel. She could have just given us an epilogue with a clear decision on if the cure worked or not and if Sam and Grace were together because of or in spite of it. Oh well, can't have everything; I still enjoyed the series.

I'm sad that it's over. But happy with the resolution. Still can't stand Grace's so-called parents, though.

I see so many comments about not liking the ending, and I just want to say that I think it was a GREAT ending to the series! The whole series is about hope and taking chances, and the end leaves you with a strong feeling of hope for both of your characters, but also leaving it to your imagination so you can make what you want with it. One of my favorite series that I've ever read! I recommend it to everyone!

As always the ending. I've been with this series for 3 books. Is a slightly more fleshed out ending so elusive? I don't need all my questions answered but more than a "call me."

I know I've been pretty ambivalent towards this series in my reviews so far, but the truth is that it has been decent. Maggie Stiefvater has an amazing way with words and with setting the mood, and even though some parts have been "too YA" for me, on the whole I have to say I've enjoyed the first two books.Still, it was a bit of a chore getting through this one. It felt like there were huge stretches where nothing happened at all, nothing but just Sam and Grace professing their love to each other in the most annoying, cringe-worthy ways. The two main characters also seem to devolve before my very eyes. Sam felt less and less like a real boy and more like some fantasy version of Mr. Sensitive, folding paper cranes and writing lovey dovey songs and shopping for pretty summer dresses and reciting German poetry. I have to say I still prefer Sam to Cole's "tough guy" archetype, but yeesh, come on. It's a good thing this kid spent most of his life as a wolf, because he'd be eaten alive in any high school.Grace also went from being tolerably emo to downright bratty. Her self-righteous argument against her parents would have been a lot more persuasive, except I suspect a lot of high school seniors would actually LOVE to be in her shoes of being given so much freedom and independence. I just never bought her situation, which I felt was made to sound a lot worse than it actually is.As much as I can't stand Cole, he and Isabel pretty much saved the book. The two of them drove the story; if it weren't for them, this would have been 300 pages of Sam and Grace groping at each other. But the worst thing about this book was how it ended. Did Maggie Stiefvater forget to write a conclusion to this series or something? There's something to be said about open endings that let the reader use their imaginations and come up with their own ideas of what happens, and they're great when an author pulls it off right. Unfortunately, it fell completely flat here.

I'm sad to see this series end. I really loved the characters and it was such a different approach to the idea of werewolves. Also, I liked that it took place in northern Minnesota, since I grew up in Minnesota.

The end to the Shiver trilogy had me staying up later reading waaaay past my bedtime! Just as much of a page-turner as the previous two books, Forever (Wolves of Mercy Falls, #3) continued on the journey of Sam and Grace, with Grace now being the wolf.I was a little disappointed with the ending, I feel like Maggie Stiefvater could have added a little more detail to the aftereffects of the move, but otherwise the story was amazing!! Can't wait to see what series she writes next.

I didn't really enjoy this series too much. Kind of unforgettable to me but at least I finished it.

I had been waiting for the conclusion to this trilogy. It was worth waiting for. I liked the fact that we got to know more about Isabel and Cole. There were times when I screamed out "NO!" and was saddened that I couldn't stop what happened. (Even though most have probably read this, I don't want to let out any spoilers.) And then so joyful at some things and hopeful for others. Ms. Stiefvater has created a great trilogy here. It's romance and really all types of love and relationships at their best...and worst. Lovely stories that keep me quite enthralled. The characters are endearing. The writing is wonderful and keeps you turning the pages. I'm giving this one 4 kisses

What a disappointment! It's usually the second book in a trilogy I could live without, but this one is the last one. I didn't even really like Sam and Grace in this, and the ending was incredibly stupid. Sad, sad, sad to end with me not liking the characters.

I was really looking forward to reading this book. Shiver was amazing and Linger was one of those books that I felt just went in a complete circle. I had high hopes that Forever would actually move the story forward. While I didn't love Forever as much as Shiver, I did love how Stiefvater handled it. With Grace turning at the end of Linger, I was really worried that she was going to drag out the separation between Grace and Sam. There was separation, but it felt so important to the story because you know how much these two characters love each other and that with every day the possibilities for them to be together become harder. When they finally come together, it's in such a simple and comfortable way. I love that they're aren't constantly gushing over each other or doubting each other just to make it more dramatic. They are a simple love story and I love that. But even with Grace and Sam keeping things simple in the love department, Cole and Isabel bring the drama. They fight, love, despise, lust. And they finally feel like solid characters that are developed enough to share in Grace and Sam's plot.I've read a number of reviews by people who were disappointed in the ending of this trilogy, but for me it was perfect, at least for Grace and Sam. Now Cole and Isabel are a different story. I would have liked one more chapter for them, but it comes back to who's story is it? Grace and Sam's.

This was a mostly satisfying conclusion to the series. There is an element of racing against time, as things are heating up in town for Sam and the wolves. I found Cole and Isabel to be an nice foil to Sam and Grace, proving that love comes in many forms and it doesn't have to look the same to still be meaningful. The part I wanted was a definitive answer to the mystery of the werewolf disease. But instead Ms. Stiefvater leaves the reader having to do as Grace says at the end - she "trusts him" and the reader must too.

I really enjoyed this book. I am a fan of the whole series but enjoyed this the most. The plot was good and the characters were sutibly complex for me. I enjoyed the development of the werewolf research and, as with Linger, found myself drawn towards the character of Cole. The ending of the book was tragic but fitted the rest of the story well and I was in tears reading Sams meeting with Beck, and throughout the final scenes. A really great book

**Possible Spoilers!**"Forever" was a good read. However, I was a bit disappointed in mainly two regards. First of all, some of the scenes felt rushed when I thought they should have been more drawn out (since they were important for the book and the series as a whole). The second thing that disappointed me... was the ending. I won't tell you exactly how it ends, but I will simply say that the author leaves it up to reader to create their own ending. In ways, it makes it feel (for me) that this story wasn't completed. It wasn't told in it's entirety. By not giving us everything (which in some stories is a good thing) the author has left many plots incomplete. This was the biggest disappointment for me. However, I DID enjoy the book and I would recommend it.

I just finished the series last night. I have to say that Forever was my favorite book of the 3. I like Shiver. Linger was only OK for me. I loved Forever. I was disappointed with the introduction of Cole and Isabel as more major characters in Linger, but the development of these characters in Forever made me wanting to know more and more about them. I think the author was great at keeping Sam and Grace's relationship complex but so loving throughout the trilogy. I have read in other reviews that if you like the Twilight series that you will like this trilogy. I haven't read the Twilight series yet, but this makes me anxious to do so.

My thoughts on this book are three fold. As a book, I loved it. I loved the way it was written, I loved the way it was built up. I enjoyed the entirety of the story, all three books were well written, they made logical sense and for the final book, it filled in a lot of blank holes that were left in the other two books. As the final book in a series, the ending annoyed the crap out of me. I did not like the way it ended so abruptly. I did not like the giant gaping hole that was left. It left me wanting more. Now on the other hand, I really liked the ending. It left a lot open to the imagination, it also left it wide open for the author to come back and write more to this series. Despite saying goodbye to Mercy Falls, it left it open enough that she could say hello again down the road.

In "Forever" the story revolves around Grace, Sam, Cole and Isabel again. Grace is now a wolf, so she is shifting uncontrollably. Sam and Cole are intent on finding her, Sam because... he loves her and Cole because he is trying to find a cure for the toxin. Isabel's father has gotten the state to approve an aerial hunt on the wolves after there is an attack (thanks to our dear Shelby). As the time passes, Sam, Isabel and Cole rush to either stop the hunt or move the wolves, while finding a cure. Grace has the problems of being 'missing', while Sam is the police's main suspect.I really did enjoy this book, but it took me some time to get through it. I think my favourite book of the series was "Linger" but I don't know exactly how to classify them all into 1st, 2nd and 3rd. They were all really amazing! I'm so glad I got to read these books. The only thing I will say was that I was quite disappointed by the ending of "Forever". It feels as if there should be another book!

While I have read many other reviews on this book saying that it was a disappointment and did not have the same appeal of the other two books in the trilogy, I actually really enjoyed this book, just for different reasons than I liked the first two. For me, Cole redeemed himself in this book. I previously found him to be obnoxious and spoiled and self-absorbed, but in this book, his unique perspective on the world made his insights both entertaining and valuable. His chemistry with Isabelle is still ever-present, but unfortunately takes a back seat to the drama of Grace and Sam. What he discovers about the wolf chemical is fascinating, and I wouldn't have minded being privy to a few more of his questionable experiments, despite how dangerous the results often were. Cole is also the only character I cried over in this book - twice. My favorite scene is when Sam and Grace get to be wolves together. Their connection to each other is near-visible in its strength, and the chemistry they exhibited in the previous books in renewed in this bond. That alone is enough to make me wonder if Cole's cure is really necessary. What I dislike is what happens with Isabelle. She does so much to help these wolves, but in the end she does not have much say over her own destiny, either. I suppose she can kind of relate to them, in her own way.The events surround Beck, Sam's father figure, are bittersweet. What happens to him I found predictable, and a kind of literary justice. His contributions to the tale were played out, and all that was left was to answer for what he did to Sam as a boy. There could have been other ways, but this one was more of a catalyst for the justice of another. Still, I feel for Sam for his loss, even if don't share those emotions for Beck. I also can't help wondering if this entire tale could not have been so different if Shelby had never been turned. While Stiefvater's open ending leaves much to the imagination, I don't mind it so much. In my head, all of the dreams and goals of the main characters are achieved, with a happy ending, as all books should be.

I have mixed feelings about the 3rd book of this series. Can't say that I loved the way it ended. It felt like even as I read the last sentence of the book, that I must have gotten a bad copy and there just had to be an extra chapter that I was missing. I really didn't feel that it was resolved. Felt very sad and like all these characters' lives had been ruined. I didn't feel like this was a happy ending a all, but then again, maybe it wasn't supposed to be.

A thrilling conclusion to the trilogy. The book (and audio) is told from four different view points. It was a very satisfying conclusion to the series.

I hate Cole. I HATE Cole. Why does everyone have a fascination with Cole? He's a douche bag. He's like a hundred other angsty teenage boys in hundreds of YA novels. I hate Isabel. I don't care about Isabel's problems. I don't like Isabel and Cole's "relationship". I don't know how Shiver went from being "holy crap this is awesome!" to this series. It's probably the biggest let down of a series for me. Shiver is awesome and I will still recommend Shiver, but that's where my recommendation stops. I feel like Cole and Isabel should have been part of a stand-alone series, that can tie in, instead of being shoved right into it with Sam and Grace. I want MORE Sam and Grace. :(

The best possible conclusion to the world's #1 best seller Shiver series. Grace has now transformed into a wolf for the winter, forgeting Sam and Cole and Isabel. But she becomes human and finds Sam once again. Cole is looking for a cure, to this disiese as they think of it. But they find out that the wolfs will be air hunted, killed from the saftey of a plane. Little do thiey know that they will be killing many people that have the unfortunite fate of turnning into a wolf. Now its up to Sam, Grace, Beck, Isabel, and Cole to stop this before the get hurt, but will they make it in time? This is one of the most amazing books I have ever read, because its not just about werewolves, its about the things we feel and think about.

Bittersweet, very inconclusive ending that offers no true resolution to the struggles of the characters. A very sober and low-key ending. Maggie's writing remains enjoyable and lyrical (though less so to my ear in this volume). Cole and Isabel were by far my favorite characters here, not that I was ever a huge fan of Sam or Grace.I am however still very much looking forward to The Scorpio Races due out next month from Maggie.

Now, in Forever, the stakes are even higher than before. Wolves are being hunted. Lives are being threatened. A couple of false alarms later and they're together again. But things are different now. When the wolves discover they're still under attack from Culpepper Grace and Sam take things into their own hands. The race is on to move the wolves. But there are consequences. This book was full of highs and lows. At one point nearly cried (I won't tell you which bit but its near the end). This book has more action and purpose to it than the others. Most probably the reason I liked it more. It still only gets 3 out of 5 though. I'm glad the series has ended but the ending was not a proper one. What happened to tieing up all the loose ends and an HEA? Don't be disappointed!

This book was definitely worth checking out. Instead of being told primarily by Grace this one followed, Cole, Sam and Isabel. Isabel as her father decided to hunt the wolves to kill them. Cole trying desperately to figure out how to un-turn Beck to find out how to move the wolves. And Sam as he looks for Grace and deals with the after math of the situation. We also learn what happened to Olivia and saw how Grace and Sam worked together to move the wolves. A great ending to a great trilogy.
