About this audiobook

Recipe for disaster: Celebrity chef Stanley Chipotle comes to Trenton to participate in a barbecue cook-off and loses his head – literally.

Throw in some spice: Bail bonds office worker Lula is witness to the crime, and the only one she'll talk to is Trenton cop, Joe Morelli.

Pump up the heat: Chipotle's sponsor is offering a million-dollar reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the capture of the killers.

Stir the pot: Lula recruits bounty hunter Stephanie Plum to help her find the killers and collect the moolah.

Add a secret ingredient: Stephanie's Grandma Mazur. Enough said.

Bring to a boil: Can Stephanie hunt down two killers, a traitor, five skips, keep her grandmother out of the sauce, solve Ranger's problems and not jump his bones?

Warning: Janet Evanovich's Finger Lickin' Fifteen is habanero hot. So good you'll want seconds.

The fifteenth installment of the Stephanie Plum series is not quite finger lickin' good - but still a fun read that doesn't tax your brain much. The plot was not as strong as the other ones, and Lula really started to grate on me after a couple of chapters. (The plot actually seemed to be secondary to the various hijinks of Lula and Grandma Mazur.) I'm glad I got this through a swap and didn't spend any money on it, especially the hardcover. Still, if you're a fan of the series, then you know what to expect, so you probably won't be terribly disappointed. (Although I am left wondering how much longer Evanovich can keep churning this stuff out.)

Very, VERY, funny. I think my neighbors must have wondered what was going on in my apartment, I kept laughing so hard. Recommend this for the humor, not the crime-solving. The murder mystery was light, even for a Plum novel. This was a surprise package in my mailbox. Thanks, sis!

I absolutely love the characters in Evanovich’s books! Stephanie, Ranger, Morelli, Lula, Grandma Muza, etc. never let me down. I laughed out loud several times during the story.

Exploding pressure cookers, apartment fire bombed, Lula witnessing a decapitation, Cars being bombed, cars being set on fire by an FTA and a BBQ Cookoff.. Another exploding and exciting addition to the series.

Lula witnesses the beheading of culinary star Stanley Chipotle and Stephanie's sometimes boyfriend, Joe Morelli, investigates. Ranger also recruits Stephanie to help solve break-ins at properties protected by his Security company. All the usual explosions, odd characters, strange events and descriptions of Rangers hot body, along with a few really good laughs. A great summer day read.

I can't quite figure if most of the gags have already been well-used in the fourteen+ books in the series, or if I, the reader, have just become immune to them and require ever more preposterous situations to be amused. That said, Finger Lickin' Fifteen has its amusing moments, but it is definitely a weaker link in the series. The book features the usual cast of characters with Lula taking a more prominent role while Morelli is relegated to a bit player. Ranger, meanwhile, is present throughout the book. That should make for a great book as these are some of my favorites playing major roles. But, somehow, the humor and the action seem a little forced and routine. How many cars could one woman reasonably expect to have set on fire? If you have not read Evanovich or not very many of her novels, you will probably love this book. If you are a major fan, prepare to be moderately entertained. I think it's all in your perspective.

When celebrity chef Stanley Chipotle comes to town to participate in a barbecue cook-off he looses his head right in front of Lulu. The reward of captturing the killers is one million dollars and Lulu recruits Stephanie to help her.

Gotta love Lula, Stephanie, Connie, Joe and Ranger! :) Not as well written as the books earlier in the series... I think Ms. Evanovich is in EZMode churning out bestselling books as fast as she can. I miss the more in depth stories, and not as obvious schtick.

You can never go wrong with a Stephanie Plum novel. Set in the Chambersburg section of Trenton, NJ. Stephanie, a bonds agent, and her sidekick Lula get into trouble wherever they go. This installment brings us to a BBQ competition complete with shooting, arson, and a beheading! With the added hilarity of Grandma Mazur, the laughs are non-stop.

I have read all of the Stephanie Plum novels so far and I just love these books. They are a very easy read and are something to read when you just wanna relax after a long day. They are just so humorous and I love all the characters, especially Grandma Mazur. It has a little bit of everything thrown in, while still being lighthearted.

I would recommend these books to anybody.

A lot of fun. Some very inept criminals are after Lulu. Lulu and Grandma join forces to enter a BBQ cook-off. Stephanie works for Ranger.

Fun, fun, fast-paced eye candy. The way Stephanie Plum balances her relationships between Morelli and Ranger continues to delight this reader. Though I am team Ranger all the way, Morelli is growing on me. A few questions left unanswered at the end regarding the famous cook off. I am suspending my disbelief and plunging ahead for number 16!

This installment of the Stephanie Plum series was cute. As always, the best characters are Grandma and Lula. I think it is time for Stephanie to choose Morelli or Ranger.

I haven't written reviews of these books, but I really enjoyed them this summer. They're guaranteed to provide at least two LOLPIP moments each, which is never a bad thing.

Unfortunately, Finger Lickin' Fifteen was just another Stephanie Plum novel. Everything that happens is exactly the same as other books: her ineptitude at capturing FTAs, her car and/or house getting blown up, Lula eating constantly, etc. It's not funny anymore. I don't care what happens with Stephanie nor whom she decides to choose to date/marry/whatever. I am done with this series.

Book fifteen (ish) in the Stephanie Plum series. In this one, Stephanie's lust object, Ranger, asks her to help him investigate some break-ins at places his company provides security for. Although why he has to rely on the generally incompetent Stephanie to figure this problem out for him, I have no idea. Also, Stephanie's friend Lula witnesses the beheading of a famous barbecue chef. (Whose name is Chipotle, thus proving that by this point Evanovich isn't even remotely trying to pretend that these books aren't 100% ridiculous.)All of that probably makes it sound more substantial that it is, though, really, because pretty much all of that exists only to set up the sexual tension and wacky hijinks. Not that that's not usually what the plots in these books exist for, but this one really does seem even slighter than usual.Otherwise, though, it's your basic Stephanie Plum novel. The same things that usually annoy me still annoy me: the love triangle, the fat jokes, the treatment of various kinds of sexual harassment as basically harmless fun for all involved. The humor is much the same as always, too, and I have to say, by this point I think it's wearing thin for me. Although there is one bit towards the end involving a hot dog costume that genuinely made me smile. Still, also as usual, it's a quick, effortless read. Also, it made me really, really hungry for barbecue, but I'm not sure if I should count that for or against it.

BOTTOM-LINE:Readable, funny, but not compelling.PLOT OR PREMISE:Stephanie is back working at Rangeman undercover to help Ranger track down the cause of some recent breakins at his clients' homes. Meanwhile, Lulu wants to find who whacked a bbq chef or win the bbq sauce context, she's flexible..WHAT I LIKED:The varying combinations of bbq attempts is epic, as are the gaseous results. .WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:The story behind the chef is so-so, and the resolution of the breakins is almost happenstance. Yawn.DISCLOSURE:I received no compensation, not even a free copy, in exchange for this review. I am not personal friends with the author, nor do I follow her on social media.

    YAAAAAAAAAAWNNNNN

Plot: Someone is doing a "job" on Ranger's clients...burglaries...alarm disarmed for 15 minutes, back on...hitting the Master Bedroom & Home Office so Ranger hires Stephanie to sniff the guy out. Lula witnesses the Chipotle BBq Guy getting beheaded on the hood of her car...and now the murderers are chasing her....

The rest of the book is the SAME as the previous 14:
    * Stephanie can't decide between Ranger and Morelli
    * Grandma Mazur is still a trouble maker and goes to a funeral
    * Lula still wears too small clothing and eats her way through the book
    * Stephanie & Lula go out hunting down Bond Skippers and manage to lose them out the window
    * Stephanie burns up Ranger's cars as well as her own
    * Stephanie has words with Joyce Bernhardt
    * Stephanie's apartment catches on fire (again) and she moves in with Ranger....

It's all the same formula, and I wish to hell Evanovich would do something a bit different.....

I read this in less than 3 hours......and I didn't laugh as much as I'd liked to have had.

Celebrity chef Stanley Chipotle comes to Trenton to participate in a barbecue cook-off and literally loses his head. Former hooker and current bond company file clerk, Lula, is a witness but will only talk to Joe Morelli. Since there is a reward, Lula convinces Stephanie to help her find the killer so they can split the cash. All the usual characters will join them, including Ranger and Grandma Mazur.

I had given up on this series but needed to read it for a challenge. I used to enjoy the books so much but number fifteen was just boring and shallow. Lula, who could be such a great character, has become a caricature. I found the entire book to be annoying and tiresome.

Lorelei King's excellent narration, especially the voices of Lula and Ranger, gained this book an extra star. Evanovich's book was a reminder of why I stopped reading this series -- none of the characters grow or change. Instead, this 15th book in the series has Stephanie Plum still relying on her male friends/lovers to bail her out and help her do her job (and Lula doesn't seem to do any work at all!) and still unable to choose between Ranger and Morelli. The various incidents with her "skips" are funny but a bit overdone and I found myself wondering why she still had this job when she continually lets people escape. Wouldn't you think that in 15 years (or even in 4 years if each book covers a season), she would have learned how to apprehend these bozos? In this entry in the series there are 2 main threads to the plot -- two killers whom Lula saw decapitate a man are now trying to kill Lula because she was a witness & someone is messing with Ranger's security business by breaking into his clients' premises. The killers are the most incompetent criminals I have read about in a long time -- it boggles my mind that they weren't captured much much sooner -- and the case is solved by dumb luck more than by any sort of detection. I found the Ranger plot more satisfying but I have learned that I prefer mysteries in which the reader has some chance of solving it. Neither of the main "mysteries" were of that sort and that was disappointing to me.

Loved it...Lula is one funny character, love Joe Morelli, and of course Grandma Mazur...and as always King with her audio performance sets the stage for a fun ride when you are in the car listening!

Plum is working overtime tracking felons for the bonds office at night and snooping for security expert Carlos Manoso, A.K.A. Ranger, during the day. Can Stephanie hunt down two killers, a traitor, five skips, keep her grandmother out of the sauce, solve Ranger’s problems and not jump his bones?

I thought I would take a dive back into this series for the sake of the brain candy factor. I'm giving the book four stars basically because it was so Ranger-heavy. I really did not care about the main plot line at all. I thought the most interesting parts involved Stephanie coming into her own while helping with Ranger's investigation. She's right though... She's stuck. And Lulu is still so very annoying, although the scenes with the fireman were better. Prolly be another long while before I get around to number 16.

Evanovich's Stephanie Plum novels never failed to make me laugh until I cried and this is no exception. Some complain about the repititiveness of events but I don't mind at all as long as it makes sense and keeps me laughing. The only thing I would like to see is Stephanie move forward and finally commit to Morelli and perhaps even get married. Overall the series is still in top form and well-worth reading.

I really enjoyed #15, Stephanie is off men so you know there are going to be a lot of scenes with Ranger and Morelli. This one had a lot more action starting with a head getting cut off with a meat cleaver and ends with Stephanie in a hotdog suit. Janet never disappoints!

What can I say? Brain candy: Lula gets stuck in Ranger's Porsche Cayenne window, Stephanie and Lula learn what the red zone means on a pressure cooker, Grandma is still waving around her .45, the competition between Ranger and Morelli continues (they will all be in a nursing home before that's resolved, see "Where's my Dentures Four-Hundred and Twenty Eight,) and Stephanie destroys several more very expensive cars. I so identify with Stephanie's father, it's scary. Pass the mashed potatoes.

Maybe I expect too much for a series that 15 books in, but I really felt like this book was, well, bleh. The plot points are so predictable and in this latest installment the mystery wasn't even well executed.

I really wish Evanovich would challenge Stephanie as a character. Let her get involved with Ranger, let us see what happens. Let her take the plunge with Morelli. So far we have just seen a lather, rinse, repeat cycle of cars exploding and failures to capture FTAs. It's like yes that's the Plum I feel in love with so many books ago, but I've grown, so why hasn't Stephanie?

This was definitely disappointing. Most of this book was pretty boring. It seems like the past couple books are really hit or miss. It just feels like similar situations happen in every book and no character is growing or changing at all.
