“Extremely interesting…a novel that will probably be called Hitchcockian.” —The New York Times Book Review

“Are you paying attention? You’ll need to be; this thriller will test your brain with its reverse chronological structure, and it’s a page-turner to boot.” —Elle

Like the spellbinding psychological suspense in The Girl on the Train and Luckiest Girl Alive, Megan Miranda’s novel is a nail-biting, breathtaking story about the disappearances of two young women—a decade apart—told in reverse.

It’s been ten years since Nicolette Farrell left her rural hometown after her best friend, Corinne, disappeared from Cooley Ridge without a trace. Back again to tie up loose ends and care for her ailing father, Nic is soon plunged into a shocking drama that reawakens Corinne’s case and breaks open old wounds long since stitched.

The decade-old investigation focused on Nic, her brother Daniel, boyfriend Tyler, and Corinne’s boyfriend Jackson. Since then, only Nic has left Cooley Ridge. Daniel and his wife, Laura, are expecting a baby; Jackson works at the town bar; and Tyler is dating Annaleise Carter, Nic’s younger neighbor and the group’s alibi the night Corinne disappeared. Then, within days of Nic’s return, Annaleise goes missing.

Told backwards—Day 15 to Day 1—from the time Annaleise goes missing, Nic works to unravel the truth about her younger neighbor’s disappearance, revealing shocking truths about her friends, her family, and what really happened to Corinne that night ten years ago.

Like nothing you’ve ever read before, All the Missing Girls delivers in all the right ways. With twists and turns that lead down dark alleys and dead ends, you may think you’re walking a familiar path, but then Megan Miranda turns it all upside down and inside out and leaves us wondering just how far we would be willing to go to protect those we love.

This book is long , dull and stupid. I can’t stand the main character as she is dumb as a brick and everyone else is just as stupid. Hated it.

In the beginning, this seemed to move at a decent pace. By the middle, I found myself saying "wait...what?? That doesn't even make sense!" And then the ending was like a lit firecracker that never exploded.

Very hard to follow the storyline. Every male voice was the same.Didn’t like the day countdown.

Ugh, the main character was awful. Took zero responsibility for her actions throughout the book, and no remorse. I admire the author’s attempt at unusual storytelling, but the whole backwards thing didn’t really work for me. 2 stars because I at least finished it.

Boring. Don't know why I even finished it. Snoozefest. I've read a thousands books. This is definitely bottom of that list.

Oof. My listening experience was not good. I’ve heard great things about this author but I won’t listen to another. I listened to this as an audiobook and maybe the hard bound book would have been a better experience.

The author loves “I said” “he said” “I said” “he said” repetition; it’s almost unbearable.
It’s very difficult to keep up with the timeline since the narrator doesn’t announce new chapter titles.

The reversed timeline makes it very difficult to keep up when listening along, without being able to flip back and look at specific pages.

I did not like this book, however I did love the voice of the narrator. I think the writing of this novel does her a disservice as the writing is garbage but her voice is very easy to listen to

    What a predictable boring ending.

I also wasn't a fan of the way the timeline was portraited, but it's a personal preference. Though I do find that the thoughts of the main character "in the beginning" do not correspond to the events that happened "in the end." I know this is so it would be harder for the reader to guess the killer. But I was left feeling that Nic was slightly insane ?
I do love boring loyal BF's normally. But Tyler was too much even for me.

I think this book would have been more enjoyed in physical form. Listening, you loose track of what is going on and what part of the storyline you are in. It was such and interesting story in the beginning and then it all kinda gets wrapped up in a neat unappetizing burrito.

Good story. Suspenseful but poorly written. The story didn't flow well. The order of events was difficult to follow.

I read this book twice to be sure that I had a good reason not to like it. A better title would be all the missing information.

An 18 year old girl disappeared 10 years ago, now another young woman has disappeared. The gimmick for this book is that, after the introductory chapter, the story is told in reverse order from day 15 to day 1 of the investigation of the most recent disappearance. This is a book full of unreliable, unethical, immoral and uninteresting characters. Unfortunately, the author chose to tell the whole story from the point of view of only one of the characters. This made it impossible to get to know, understand or care about the other characters. I was not engaged by them and I just wanted to cut to the conclusion, which turned out to be implausible and unsatisfying. You begin to get the true story in day 3, in case you are also interested in skipping ahead, but I should probably have just skipped this book.I received a free copy of the ebook from the publisher, but I wound up listening to the audiobook version.

I really wanted to like this book because of the description’s comparison to “Gone Girl”, but this didn’t come anywhere close. I like the cleverness of telling a story backwards, but telling this story backwards totally excluded me from the mystery-solving process. I was still curious to find out what happened, but when I finished it, I was very much underwhelmed. If it were read from Day 1 to Day 15, rather than Day 15 to Day 1, dare I say, I think it would’ve been even less enjoyable. I still have high hopes and will still absolutely try another novel from Miranda though. I love mysteries, and sometimes, a good one is simply a diamond in the rough!

Hard book to listen to off and on with some chapters going backwards in time.

The best description of this book would be “FINE.” It’s not great, but it’s not awful either. The way the author organized the book, made it a little bit confusing to follow and repetitive. By the end, I knew exactly who the villain was before it was revealed.

Story itself was predictable, the narrator likable only in the first chapter. None of the other characters were interesting.

The narrator of the audiobook sounded always agitated. That stressed me and made it hard for me to listen.

I was very disappointed and skipped to the last few chapters after a third or so.

I thought it was great overall. I liked how it was pieced together to create suspense toward the end. That being said, I was a little let down by the ending.
I don’t regret reading it though!

Overall an enjoyable read. I struggled with how the timeline plays out in the story. Absolutely struggle to find a character to root for.

It was interesting hearing a story told backwards and it took a little getting used to. I found it helpful to remind myself, “This is the day before,” as I was listening.

But by the end, the story just got too tangled for me and I essentially missed the really important part of the story which was who killed Annaliese. I had to read spoilers to figure that out, so I’m not sure if I fell asleep while reading and didn’t go back far enough or if it was just really that hidden.

Not sure what to expect from the descriptions luckily it was excellent writing and a cold twist in the end.

It's good and a clever construction in regards to the storyline, but I kind of expected more. The rating suggested a fantastic read but for me it just didn't quite take me all the way to five stars.

My favorite Megan Miranda read so far! Make sure you pay attention at the beginning.
