- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book is absolutely stuffed full of sensible, meaningful and positive approaches for training your puppy, and all are routed in empathy and understanding of dogs. The author is highly respected in the training world, and his years of research and experience enable him to give advice and guidance routed in real life experiences and evidence based approaches. His training methods are easy to understand and he breaks each cue into short clear steps to follow. He also integrates little story examples for each. The book is not dry, but rather very interesting. He provides just enough information to make the “why” of each cue clear, without falling into reams of behavioural science. And he sprinkles a little humour throughout as well. The author also narrates this audio book, so it feels smooth and easy to listen to. As a listener, you feel his passion for dogs and his belief in building strong relationships between puppies and their families. I’m so thankful I came across this book and decided to give it a chance. After listening to other training books, it has been my favourite! And definitely the one I will refer back to while developing my relationship with my puppy. Highly, highly recommend!!
