Description
Mia Sosa delivers a sassy, steamy #ownvoices enemies-to-lovers novel, perfect for fans of Jasmine Guillory, Helen Hoang, and Sally Thorne!
A wedding planner left at the altar? Yeah, the irony isn't lost on Carolina Santos, either. But despite that embarrassing blip from her past, Lina's offered an opportunity that could change her life. There's just one hitch… she has to collaborate with the best (make that worst) man from her own failed nuptials.
Marketing expert Max Hartley is determined to make his mark with a coveted hotel client looking to expand its brand. Then he learns he'll be working with his brother's whip-smart, stunning—absolutely off-limits-ex-fiancée. And she loathes him.
If they can nail their presentation without killing each other, they'll both come out ahead. Except Max has been public enemy number one ever since he encouraged his brother to jilt the bride, and Lina's ready to dish out a little payback of her own.
Soon Lina and Max discover animosity may not be the only emotion creating sparks between them. Still, this star-crossed couple can never be more than temporary playmates because Lina isn't interested in falling in love and Max refuses to play runner-up to his brother ever again...

Reviews
I Picked Up This Book Because: I can’t resist the hype around books lately. LOL
The Characters:
Carolina “Lina” Santos:
Max Hartley:
Andrew Hartley, Lina’s Mother, Aunts and Cousins whose names I don’t remember
The Story:
This is my first book by Ms Sosa but it won’t be my last. I love how this story was built. Lina and Max had palpable chemistry even before they made up. I love how they teased each other. They are one of my favorite kinds of couples.
The Random Thoughts:

4 Stars
However, what spoilt the novel for me was the ending. SPOILER ALERT. Lina is supposed to be this great professional wedding planner but she has no qualms about making a speech at her cousin’s wedding (just after her cousin has warned people not to do this) and upstaging her favourite cousin. That lost it a star.
The female narrator was GREAT. The male narrator was not. Not even a little. His female voices were grating, and the male voices that were not Max where also obnoxious and whiny. I found myself wishing he would have just read in a his normal voice, because his normal voice was nice.
Max found away to wiggled himself underneath Lina's careful orchestrated façade and Lina forgot to guard her heart against Max which wasn't suppose to happen.
Max started out in the dog house in Lina's eyes because he was her ex fiance's bother who talked him out of getting married the night before Lina and Andrew were suppose to tie the knot. Talk about an uncomfortable situation right from the get go when both Max and Lina were working together unexpectedly and trying to play nice. Lina had other ideas though, how to get even and make Max pay for her breakup with his brother. OMG I laughed and smiled throughout this whole book!! Lina's family was a sassy bunch of protective strong willed Brazilian women and boy did they give Max a piece of their mind!!
My face hurt from smiling so much during this book!! I would highly recommend this read!!
I think I have to accept that I do not like contemporary fiction or rom coms. I just found the book incredible cringy and lost count of the number of time I rolled my eyes. Redeeming factors were the important themes on stereotypes/expectations/interpretations/sexism/racism and the diversity and representation throughout the entire thing. Those aspects I admired.
Audiobook:
I've got nothing against the audiobook. The two narrators were good and the speed was perfect.
