Tina Turner
Tina Turner, born Anna Mae Bullock, was a singer and actress whose career spanned more than sixty years. She won numerous awards, including eight Grammys. Tina began her music career with her husband Ike Turner as a member of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue. Success followed with a string of hits including “River Deep, Mountain High” and “Proud Mary.” She divorced Ike in 1978 and, after virtually disappearing from the music scene for several years, rebuilt her career, launching a string of hits including her 1984 solo album Private Dancer. In 1986, she published a bestselling memoir I Tina which was turned into the Academy Award-nominated film What’s Love Got to Do with It in 1993. One of the world’s most popular entertainers, Tina sold more concert tickets than any other solo music performer in history. She lived with her husband in Zurich, Switzerland until her death in 2023 at the age of eighty-three.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5If you have an interest in Buddhism or a beginners curiosity...this book is worth the read. So very much wisdom to be found.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love hearing Tina’s and Anna Mae story. I don’t know why, but I think I’m at a moment in my life to let go or things. She gives me such love and positive energy. I do admit as somebody with autism, social media helps me connect. But yes, beware of the toxicity.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I did the mistake of getting this book on audio format, thinking it would be read by her. The reader is good but her voice has nothing to do with Tina, and Tina’s voice and character, and it makes the content lose power. This is solely my impression. I think the book content is really good and useful, even if you are not trying to be a buddhist, as it is full of truth and pathos, such as the concept of transforming poison into medicine and about kind acts that revitalize your life and others life. I just do not suggest the audio version for a stronger impact, if I would have first read the paper version I may have give it a four star but as it is it’s a 3.5 for me.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Such a wonderful book that, yes talks a lot about Buddhism, but it’s also a surprising new look at her life. Ms. Turner had such a dynamic life. It was great to learn about it from this lens.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5High frequency words that resonate lifetimes over! A must read for the gentle nudge that you will inevitably get to tap into Source and BE the true you that you’re meant to be. Thank you to my mentor, Beloved Tina Turner.
