About this audiobook

Embarking on a new journey, Santana Summers wants nothing more than to enjoy her new city, new friends, and new career. But when one of those friends is one of Chicago's most eligible bachelors, Santana finds herself getting more than she ever bargained for.

Being the youngest of seven brothers, Josiah Alexander Rose is the quintessential playboy. He is not interested in settling down until his father gives him a proposition he cannot refuse. It's the opportunity of a lifetime, but to execute it, dear old dad wants Josiah to settle down, show some responsibility and gain a wife. Josiah thinks the idea is absurd until he and Santana come up with a plan that just may land Josiah that coveted position.

It is the perfect solution, and things go well until what was intended to be an arrangement turns into many nights of unabashed passion. With each growing day, emotions mix and the lines of the pretentious and reality are blurred. Will Santana be foolish enough to hand over her heart to Josiah? Is Josiah willing to risk it all for her?

Contains mature themes.

    Eh, it was okay.
I really liked the cover of this book and Diem's narration. The black romance and black friendships was a vibe. I also liked that Josiah prayed before meals. I don't know, I can't explain it but that appealed to me.
    It was just ok!
Forgettable plot but great array of POC characters that felt like I was reading a script from an episode of Tyler Perry's Sistas = 3 stars?

Starting with the previous book, this series seems to be getting more and more boring... PAINFULLY BORING! There's nothing really going on. The fake relationship idea isn't supported at all. THEY'RE TOGETHER! They just pretend not to realize it. I struggled through it, but found myself litterally zoning out for entire chapters and having to force myself to pay attention. The female character is annoyingly fickle, and the male character is not really UN-likable, but he's not necessarily likable either. By chapter 13, I just stopped caring, and was basically just waiting for it to end. Struggled to dinner in character 15 and gave up. Yeah, you're from a rich family, but you're a car salesman. How do you get a last minute reservation at a restaurant with a 6 month waiting list, get your meal copped in return for a picture, then get a private "hibachi-style" performance from the chef? And what young Black couple speaks to each other like this? I can't really see myself continuing the the book, let alone the series.
