Description

This program is read by the author.

The inspiring, influential senator and bestselling author mixes vivid personal stories with a passionate plea for political transformation.

Elizabeth Warren is a beacon for everyone who believes that real change can improve the lives of all Americans. Committed, fearless, and famously persistent, she brings her best game to every battle she wages.

In Persist, Warren writes about six perspectives that have influenced her life and advocacy. She's a mother who learned from wrenching personal experience why child care is so essential. She's a teacher who has known since grade school the value of a good and affordable education. She's a planner who understands that every complex problem requires a comprehensive response. She's a fighter who discovered the hard way that nobody gives up power willingly. She's a learner who thinks, listens, and works to fight racism in America. And she's a woman who has proven over and over that women are just as capable as men.

Candid and compelling, Persist is both a deeply personal audiobook and a powerful call to action. Elizabeth Warren-one of our nation's most visionary leaders-will inspire everyone to believe that if we're willing to fight for it, profound change is well within our reach.

About the author

Travel may be in my DNA. I find the prospect of seeing new places and meeting new people pleasurable and on occasion exciting. I have written this book for my family and friends as a memoir of some of the fascinating places I have visited. It reflects the historical background of our country in the late 20th Century and the early 21st, and my perceptions of the world I lived in. I grew up in Webster Groves, Missouri, a St. Louis suburb. My family moved to New York City in January, 1944, where I attended Chapin School. It was in this fairly brief period of time in New York, my last year and a half of school, that the world opened up to me, and I wanted to know all about places like England, France and Germany. I graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 1949 and married Geoffrey Warren that year. He worked for Sears and we moved around the Southwest and Midwest where we raised our four girls, Kathryn, Patricia, Michele, and Deborah. I obtained a doctorate in political science in 1970 from the University of Nebraska where we had lived, and then we moved to Chicago, the Sears headquarters. For the next 36 years I lived in Glencoe, Illinois, and practiced politics as a member of the Village Board and later as Village President. My interest in traveling is related to my interest in government and in the religions of the world. These interests are reflected in this story of my travels.

A lively informative book, filled with plans that somehow she’ll enact. It ‘s a shame that she’s not President!Maybe in “ 28” After 8 years of Biden.
