About this audiobook

A new Alpha will rise...

Asher Mateo’s future was stolen the night the Sedona Pack Alpha marked him to be bitten. Drafted into the werewolf Pack, Asher was forced to become a man he hardly recognized. After heading up a rebellion to overthrow their Alpha, Asher can’t wash the sins from his hands and yearns for a fresh start. But he can’t bring himself to leave Naomi and her twin boys. Without a strong Alpha to lead the Pack, all their lives are at risk from a new threat who will stop at nothing to expose shifters to the world as blood thirsty killers.

Naomi Rossi used to be a graphic designer with a black belt in karate and deadly aim with ninja stars, but under a full moon a wolf bite left her changed forever. Now she’s a single mom to her twin boys, and doing her best to help her friend Asher see himself the way she does, as a leader. But a passing touch, threatens all of her plans as her wolf recognizes this man is destined to be much more than a friend…

Editor's Note

Pack Dynamics...

The first full-length book in Kessler’s “Sedona Pack” series presents a world fraught with danger. The titular Pack of werewolves have overthrown their corrupt and dangerous Alpha, leaving them with a power void. The Pack has to navigate its post-Alpha world while rebuffing threats from other shifters who sense an opportunity for domination. Loyalty, family dynamics, and Pack hierarchy are woven throughout “Sedona Sin,” underpinning the growing romance.

Very enjoyable characters and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. The male narrator is a little meh, but once the story started rolling, it was easy to overlook that.

I started with this book from this author. I’m aware this is a spin-off of another series in the beginning since I didn’t read the other series first I felt a little lost. Jumping right into a storyline that had a whole lot of backstory that was unknown to me but by the end of this book I feel like I got the gist of the other series that I did enjoy this book. I’d recommend reading the original series prior to this one however if your just starting out.

I loved the story, but I quickly got tired of the "woe is me" tone. That said, the readers were wonderful.

Lisa knows how to pull at her readers heart strings and this book was no different!!! Asher definitely battles himself in this one, and I loved getting to follow along while he discovered his worth.

Absolute joy to listen to. I was honed in for the entire book. When I had to go to work and couldn't listen to it it was on my mind the whole shift waiting to listen more.

Amazing I couldn't stop listening. It sucks you into the shifter world and makes you long and hope for a love as strong as Naomi and Asher

This is the second or third of this author’s books that I’ve tried to read. They all suffer from the same problem. So if you’ve read other stuff by her and liked it, you’ll probably like this one, too.

If you are in any way on the fence, then I’d say to give it a shot. It’s free with subscription. And not everyone shares my personal pet peeves.

For me, I can not stand the way the characters are so stupid. They create problems in their heads that don’t exist and don’t have reasonable justification in backstory. Then they constantly hash it out over and over. They’re internally whiny. But then when an actual problem happens, they don’t address it or make the choice that any person of intelligence would ever make.

    Spoiler……….
    ……………….
There’s a scene where Asher has been shot with a tranquilizer gun. The bad guys keep threatening to kill him, but they don’t. She realizes they can’t kill him because they know that he is their only leverage against her.

That realization should have made her realize, “Oh, I can keep stalling until help gets here.” Anyone with a brain would have started talking. Acting like she was waffling. Started asking for reassurance they wouldn’t hurt him if she cooperated, etc until help arrived. Instead, she drops her gun and lets them take her captive. So now her twins are vulnerable alone in the house. Asher is unconscious and they have no reason any longer NOT to kill him. The poster child for a character who is Too Stupid To Live.

Every main character I’ve read from her is like this. They don’t do things that make sense. They don’t feel like real people (or werewolves). And it’s not just once or twice. It’s constant.

Every choice. Every decision feels contrived. Like there was a spinner wheel with possible “reactions”. Instead of doing, for example, what an intelligent mother trying to protect her children would do, she spins the wheel, it lands on “drop your weapon and allow yourself to be taken” so she does. Even when it makes no sense under the circumstances.

The series itself has so much potential. But I can’t handle the way the characters feel like every decision is random.
