As a Garifuna, Misty emphasizes on the importance of preserving the culture, and passing down the language from generation to generation. UNESCO proclaimed the Garifuna Culture as a masterpiece of the oral and intangible heritage of humanity.
Misty Hernandez currently resides in New York City, and studied Criminal Justice and Public Administration at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Her long term goals include creating more books that will be beneficial to the Garinagu people and others.view less
