He combines solid research with deep personal experience in corporate life to offer his clients critical yet simple insights into how to get results with greater influence.
He learned how to influence in the field. He has worked in many disciplines, including Mergers and Acquisitions, International Strategy, Information Technology, Sales and Leadership Development. After taking a career break from the cut and thrust of corporate life, Colin decided in 2003 to dedicate his time to helping others to become more influential. With a significant level of research, and extensive work with clients, Colin has quickly established himself as one of the leading experts in his area.
Colin is co-author of several books including 21 Dirty Tricks at Work (July 2005 - Wiley) and Political Dilemmas at Work (September 2008 - Wiley). He has written chapters and articles for many other publications, including Managing the Political Temperature of Your Team, written for Marshall Goldsmith's new book, the AMA Handbook of Leadership, alongside notables such as Dave Ulrich and Paul Hersey. For a summary, check out Political Temperature. Colin's latest book, Advocates and Enemies was published in September 2011.
One of his articles - Executive Crunch Time - has now been printed over 500,000 times in various publications around the world. This included appearing in Leadership Excellence which regularly features guru's such as Malcolm Gladwell, Warren Bennis, Jim Collins and Stephen Covey.
Along with a significant portfolio of corporate clients, Colin also works with many other organisations including many business schools (Warwick, Wharton, CASS, Sheffield Hallam, Aliant to name but a few) and The Conference Board (most recently leading a session at the Executive Coaching Summit in New York exploring the future of Executive Coaching).
You will find Colin very approachable, knowledgeable and totally enthusiastic about his subject. He has been working in this field since 2003 and although being recognised as a leading expert in his area, applies the "always more to learn" approach to his endeavours. Over the years he has established links with other top experts in this field, and related ones, so that he can bring to his clients the latest and best thinking in practical ways.
Colin is available to work with clients anywhere in the world and is skilled at remote working. If you'd like to engage Colin for your conference or come and work with your people, please get in touch.view less
