He holds a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University and has taught at David Lipscomb University and Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
He is a known community leader, serving with groups such as the AIDS Education Committee of the American Red Cross and the Metro Public Schools, and is the author of over twenty books, two of which are The Names of Jesus, and What Would Jesus Do Today? Shelly is widely published in religious journals and co-edits Wineskins magazine. He and his wonderful wife, Myra, make their home in Nashville, TN.view less
