A baby boomer born into the family of a World War II veteran, he grew up in the small town of Mill Creek Oklahoma during the 1950s and 1960s. The Oklahoma of his youth was characterized by editorials and books such as “The Grapes Of Wrath” which depicted Oklahomans as mainly illiterate and uncultured.
Growing up in rural Oklahoma in that era defined a generation of Americans that have their roots planted firmly in the free soil of this great nation. Ted and his lovely wife Darlene have raised their family in the general area that is home to the characters in “Black Cotton II.
“Black Cotton II” is Ted’s fourth book to be published. There are thousands of his books in print. He has written about life in Oklahoma in the post war years of the 1950s and 1960s. His historical fiction novel, “Son Of The Red Earth” is based on a true story set in the Great Depression years of the 1930s.
“Bellwood Cowboy” chronicles the life of one of Oklahoma’s most prolific citizens, Artie Quinton, who worked for the sprawling Daube Ranch in south central Oklahoma for half a century. He is one of the old time cowboys that did it for a living.
Ted’s interest outside of writing include fishing and the outdoors. Walking in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area near his home, boating on beautiful Arbuckle lake, and spending time with the family. Ted and Darlene have four children and eleven grandchildren. He has been a business manager for forty years.view less
