Combining liberal theology and existential philosophy with Jungian and Sullivanian psychology, his innovative approach has shaped the practice of many psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and marriage and family therapists.
After receiving his doctorate in 1967, Dr. Snyder was appointed by the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine to train psychiatric interns and residents, using an approach to relational dynamics developed under grants from the National Institute of Mental Health.
Dr. Snyder has subsequently devoted his professional life to an independent practice of clinical psychology in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In addition to flying, he is an avid sailor and dabbles in skiing and photography. He and his life-partner, Carolyn Mills, reside in the Chesapeake Bay town of St. Michaels.view less
