It ...view moreAs a parent volunteer, a school project evolved into an in-depth research of the Underground Railroad throughout Michigan and Canada. The project was presented at elementary and middle schools. It has since been added to the permanent display at Uncle Tom’s Cabin in Dresden, Canada. This was the inspiration that led to the writing of How I Got By, the author’s first novel.
Glenna Livingston is the descendant of slaves in Tennessee and Maryland. Her great-great grandfather used the Underground Railroad to escape slavery in Maryland to the Dawn Settlement in Dresden, Canada.
Ms. Livingston has written a variety of articles for various publications. She is editor of the newsletter for her church, Sunday School Youth Leader, and Women’s Bible Study Leader. She lives in West Bloomfield, Michigan with her husband and son.view less
