During his lessons, Daniel would tell them stories about various animals he has seen around the world. When he told them about lions, their attention never wavered.
At Longleat Safari and Adventure Park, Wiltshire, England, Mr. Thomasson observed lions being given ostrich eggs to eat for nutrition. They would play with the eggs, roll them around, get tired, and fall asleep. It took them a while to figure out how to crack the eggshells. Their actions gave him the idea for his book: The Lion and the Egg.
