Baker was born and raised in a small town in Ontario, Canada. While studying Zoology in University, she spent a year abroad in Sweden where she met her future husband. After returning to Canada and completing her education, she moved to Spain to be with him.
It was living in Madrid, while going through major reading-withdrawal, that she began writing (a hobby she'd abandoned after high school) the kinds of stories she was always looking for. Luckily for her, she found them.
