At school and university I felt that for my integrity as a sensate human being it is necessary to rip off the shallow veneer of cultural conditioning to get to the real you underneath. I feel we are all composed of multiple layers of selves, which due to the pressures of our conventional lives are split off and hidden from view. That is until a severe life challenging event hits and we are faced with a choice.
This intense personal journey of self discovery is a form of cleansing which my main voice in the narrative feels that he must find again. In order to do that he must leave his safe familiar world and trade it for a life saturated with chaos and creative sensuality. Exploring through his senses how far he can take that reality to its ultimate level so that he can live his life with meaning enraptured by the intensity of his new reborn self.
A sequel exploring the theme of redemption and renewal will in the same format of my current offering to feast your senses is now in the process of being crafted.
