She remained in the field of child welfare for nearly a decade, when she and her husband, a program administrator for the Florida Department of Children and Families, gave birth to twin girls. Now with five children and working from home, Aimee would like to give a voice to the untold story of child abuse and those who dedicate their lives to working with abused children and their families.
Aimee writes from a place of familiarity as she herself was fostered and adopted as a child and grew up to pursue a career helping families in similar circumstances. Her novel, while fiction, is based on her own family history and inspired by her experiences as a case manager. She and her husband have twenty years of combined experience in child welfare and live with their children in the quaint riverside town of Sebastian, Florida.view less
