He was brought up all over the five boroughs and Long Island. He carried out his first scientific experiment at age six, when he plugged himself into a wall outlet and discovered the color blue. Turning to safer fields, Barry wrote his first story at ten and his first poem at fourteen. He has a bachelor's from CCNY and a Ph.D. in mathematics from Boston University, and he studied in the M.F.A. program of the University of Arizona. He has worked as a newsboy, a clerk, a peddler, a pipe-cutter, and a teacher at all levels between eighth grade and college. He lives in Minnesota with his wife Audrey and a very old cat. He has published poems and stories in literary journals and on many web sites, including the late lamented "Exquisite Corpse". His poetry collection, "Boy with Honeybee Hair", is forthcoming. "O, Sinners" is his first novel.view less
