William Campbell spent his early years roaming the beaches and turnpikes of his native state when he wasn't busy devouring science fiction and fantasy novels. He earned a B.S. from the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, graduating with high honors, and served as a naval aviator and geophysics officer during the Cold War and first Gulf War. He holds a master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was twice a finalist for NASA astronaut candidate selection. Since leaving the Navy, he has worked in the telecommunications industry, earning two U.S. Patents. He is the author of six novels and plays a mean guitar.view less
