Experiences in medicine, flying, wilderness hiking, and dog-sled racing in Alaska helped her survive a plane crash in snowy mountains and fuel her writing.As an emergency physician, Dr.Kuffel provided care to many crime victims. Often working closely with investigators, she gained insight into their quests for justice and received unique cooperation from Montana law enforcement while writing Eyes of a Pedophile.Her Lipstick Logic monthly health column appeared in Montana Woman magazine for years. She is chairman of Montana Women Writers, past president of Authors of the Flathead, past coordinator of annual Flathead River Writers Conferences and is the recipient of the Soroptimist Ruby Award for her support of human and women's rights. Following retirement from medicine, her time is filled with hiking, photography, political activism, stargazing, and writing many books across genres. She lives in Montana near Glacier National Park with her husband and two dogs where she watches the sun rise over the Rocky Mountains.view less
