She is a Board member of the New York State Assn. of Licensed Midwives. She is also the founder and owner of the longest-running postpartum doula corporation in New York State, Mother Nurture, Inc.Prior to becoming a licensed midwife, Alice was a labor and delivery nurse, a certified childbirth educator, a La Leche League Leader and a doula. She was also a journalist and author who specialized in maternal and child health.Alice had five children, two born with doctors in hospitals, and three born with midwives at home. She lives in Ulster County, New York.view less
