A slow learning day dreamer turned into a determined story teller with a gift to reach others. This past year Nycolette walked on the seen with her first novel “Is It Still There?” A love story about a woman determined not to give up no matter what life threw her way. Nycolette knows all about that. She was a fighter from birth, sick most of her life she learned very early that anything worth having was worth fighting for, including life. She faced obstacles in school, “being sick most of time and spending most of the school year in the hospital you miss allot, so I had allot of catching up to do when I returned to school. It was tough.” Was her response as she thought of those years falling behind the other students and being told that she may not graduate on time with her class. Nycolette was not taking that lying down she was determined to graduate with her class and she did with her father smiling proud waiting for her to come back to her seat after receiving her diploma with his arms opened wide. “I am so proud of you.” She remembers him saying. Her father died October-2-2004. “It was the hardest time of my life” She remembers. Nycolette is now living a dream. “Writing was always what I wanted to do.” She has a God given ability to tell stories about over coming. “You will find one thing in common with all my stories, they always over come. I believe no matter what is going on in you life with the help and guidance of God you can over come anything.” Nycolette gives all credit to God for her abilities and gift. She loves to sing, dance, act, model and yes write. In her spare time she teaches children and mentors. “I want to do everything” Blanks says. This is only the beginning for Nycolette I’m sure we will be seeing much more of herview less
