I am employed as a teaching assistant at Whitehill Primary School. My role as a teaching assistant is a very fulfilling one, and my day-to-day role includes caring and supporting early-year children.
It is the love I hold for my grandchildren and the children past and present at Whitehill Primary that has inspired me to put pen to paper and write something that would make them laugh. There is nothing better than seeing children smile and hearing them giggle when you hold their attention with a book.
The idea for this book came to me when I first saw my newborn second grandson Cristiano James, CJ for short. He was born in the hospital, and I saw him an hour later. The first thing he reminded me of was not his mum or dad—whom he resembled—but, in fact, a wrinkly pink prawn. This, of course, led me to writing this book.view less
