In 1990, he joined the staff of the Long Beach Press-Telegram, initially serving as beat writer for the L.A. Raiders before becoming a columnist and features writer. He is a graduate of Los Angeles City College and Cal State-Los Angeles with degrees in journalism. He lives in Long Beach and has a son who is a junior at Long Beach State.view less
