Whether it's set in a complicated future age, a historical era that's long gone by, or anywhere in between, every novel and short story I write has meticulous attention to world-building and character development. I want my books to inspire, to encourage, to challenge you--and let's not forget, to be funny at times.
Young adult, New Adult, and MG stories. Books for younger readers from 12-22. Can be enjoyed by readers 23 and up until death (the sky is the limit as long as you are still alive), assuming you retain enough sense of humor to keep up with the younger audiences. Sometimes adults get slow and cranky. If you are one of them you might find the pace fast, snappy, and loaded with rapid plot twists and dialogue you're actually supposed to read, but everyone else should give my books a try. Kids under 12 are also welcome although they might find a couple of the New Adult titles to be a Boring-Grownup sort of thing. Young boring grownup, but still...I've got lots of fun stuff for kids instead.
And that just about covers my books. What about myself? Well, I am a farm girl who lives in rural Texas, surrounded by big blue skies, cornfields, and winding gravel roads. After avidly reading every children’s book and young adult novel I could find, including classics like Louisa May Alcott and J.R.R. Tolkien, I took to writing without thinking twice about it. I’ve published over 10 YA, MG, and New Adult books and I alternate between writing realistic family dramas and epic fantasy, with a dose of science fiction that sprang up on its own and fits neatly somewhere in between the other two. I get most of my ideas while drifting innocuously around my house. And I was for eight years the devoted fan (as she'd undoubtedly have put it) of our family's beloved, blind Pomeranian. She has now passed on, but I still love Pomeranians. If you're a Pomeranian's person--you know what unique and deeply lovable dogs they are. You just know.
