The book also captures a bit of Alaskan history and describes the tumultuous times from 1969 to 1975.
Armand Spielman moved his young family to California in 1955 and landed a job with Richfield Oil Corporation as a land title analyst. Richfield transferred Armand to Alaska in 1960. Shortly afterwards, Richfield merged with Atlantic Refining to form the Atlantic Richfield Corporation (ARCO). Armand worked for ARCO as a landman for 35 years until his retirement. He is an active member of the Petroleum Club and still keeps abreast of Alaska's oil industry.
