Her mother, a voracious reader, often took her to the local library where she would spend hours perusing the children's fiction aisle for classic books like Anne of Green Gables. Her mother bought her an entire collection of Barbara Cartland's novels which sparked her interest in the romance genre. Joy began borrowing every Harlequin novel she could find and especially fell in love with historical romance, ignited by Kathleen Woodiwiss' novel The Flame and The Flower. It didn't dawn on her to write her own romance books until after graduating from college, as she was focused on writing screenplays. With two romance novels to her name, Joy is currently writing a third which is expected out in early 2015.view less
