Among his many awards are the Preseren Foundation Prize, the highest state award for prose and drama and the prestigious Zupancic Award for lifetime achievement. He is the most widely known and widely read of Slovenian authors (150 translations in thirty-eight languages). His novel On the Gold Coast was nominated for the Dublin Impac Prize 2015.view less
