A graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College with a Masters degree in Education from West Chester State University, he has always strived to teach the unteachable.
He began teaching in 1959 at Wilkinsburg High School in Pittsburgh, Pa., then found his niche in Health Science, a required co-ed senior class in Abington High School, in Philadelphia, Pa.
He was a successful boys varsity basketball coach for 30 years in the Pennsylvania public school system, and after 524 wins was named to Who’s Who in Pennsylvania sports history. He is currently the dean of students at the Professional Golfers Career College in Temecula, Ca., where he continues to teach.
His daughter recalls that every student wanted to have him as their teacher in their senior year, and some were found in tears after learning they were assigned another teacher.view less
