But it was her lifelong love of crafts that took an unexpected turn when she joined a community woodshop in 2005. Intrigued by the potential of the scroll saw, she started exploring its possibilities. Her innovative projects, coupled with skill as a seasoned writer and presenter, quickly established her as a major contributor to the woodworking scene. Her first book, Wooden Bowls from the Scroll Saw, published in 2010, was the first comprehensive presentation of the theory and technique underlying the art of the scrolled bowl. This book was followed in 2012 by Creative Wooden Boxes from the Scroll Saw, a collection of unique and innovative boxes, none of which require traditional joinery. Her technically oriented articles about the scroll saw and other tools, as well as interesting and challenging instructional projects, appear frequently in woodworking magazines. Her blog and YouTube videos not only inspire interest and enthusiasm, they allow for direct interaction with viewers and readers. In the newly revised edition of Wooden Bowls from the Scroll Saw, now titled Scroll Saw Wooden Bowls, Carole provides updated information on tools and techniques, as well as a number of new projects that take the art of the scrolled bowl to a new level. view less
