My parents moved to Columbia, South Carolina in hopes of providing a better life for our family. South Carolina is where I met and married Darien, my mesmerizing husband of 17 years. I am the mother to four amazing children: Eric, Ayla, Arlieta and Claressa. I am also the grandmother of three awesome grandchildren: Sadé, Carmyn and Eric Jr.
I have always had a vivid imagination. As a child, one of my dreams was to become a writer. As a college student my writing ability was nurtured and began to flourish. I wrote my first novel, Reflections of Madison, in hopes of fulfilling my lifelong dream.
The motivation for writing this fiction novel was to become a better me. The message I would like to have you take from the story line is: Keep God first in your life and pray. Prayer is powerful. You have to have faith in God and believe in yourself. Everyone will go through trials, but it's better to go through the toughest of times with your family. My point is that you have to keep pressing forward and never settle. If you believe in yourself you can achieve anything. Never let your dreams get so far ahead of you that they aren't attainable.
I have always believed in God, but this novel was birthed during a joy-filled time of my life when God was most prevalent. I felt that God was pushing me into the next stage of my life.
I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
