He was formerly the State Archaeologist with the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. ...view moreBarry C. Kent received a Ph. D. in anthropology from Penn State University in 1970. He was formerly the State Archaeologist with the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. Much of his archaeological research involved the Susquehannock Indians and that work resulted in the publication of Susquehanna’s Indians. The current
book is, in effect, a popularized version of this earlier work.
Since retirement he has pursued an interest in colonial life and architecture, has been a lecturer for the Pennsylvania Humanities Council, an archaeological and exhibit consultant, and occasional adjunct professor of anthropology at York College of Pennsylvania.view less
