He was awarded Masters Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication by the University of Kashmir in 2005. Since then has worked as a journalist/writer for different media organizations in Jammu And Kashmir State and outside. At present he is an editor at Rising Kashmir, a Kashmir-based English-language newspaper. He has written columns, editorials and short fiction stories for newspapers and online media. The House On The River: Insurrection is authors first major work of fiction. He is married to Shehra Hassan, and they live with their daughter Elham and the family in Srinagar, Kashmir.view less
