He attended St Gabriel grammar school, Fordham Prep, and Manhattan College where he studied Civil Engineering. He joined a company in Windsor CT working on nuclear systems and earned an MS in Mechanical Engineering from RPI . . His engineering career included many years with United Technologies in Hartford followed by years as an engineering consultant supporting a number of companies in the US and abroad in the development of Fuel Cell technology. He married Barbara Grant, whom he knew from earlier times in Riversdale. They raised 3 daughters while living in Wethersfied CT. In town, Robert was active in the Jaycees and local politics and served on the town council. He was also very active in Toastmasters.view less
