Anna L.Sonin Tsipenyuk came to America, San Francisco
from Kyiv, then the capital of Ukrainian Socialist
Republic of the Soviet Union, in 1995 as a refugee.
She began writing verses in Russian at the age of ten.
In her fifteen she tried to translate some Longfellow’s
verses into Russian. While studying English
at the Kyiv Pedagogical Institute, she began writing poems
in English. But then, not being able to find a job after graduating from
this institute with a diploma ”Cum Lauder,” began studying
again to become a Master of Civil Engineering.
Two previous books of poetry in Russian were
published by this author in 1995 in Kyiv, and in
2003 in San Francisco. The poems, included
in this book, have been regularly published in the magazine
“Poems of the World,” (from2001year till now), and in the annual
collections of poetry with the “International Society of
poets.” In 2003 the poet has received “The Laureate
Certificate” in recognition of successful completion of
“Creative Poetry Expression Course” with the Inter-
national Library of Poets. She is taking part in the
“Poets Eleven”, the annual poetry reading in San Francisco Public
Library, and several other places in the city.
The poet was working in San Francisco for eight years as a social worker.
Has a family. In 2009 became a great grandmother.view less
