After graduating from Highland Junior College and the University of Kansas, she went to work in the clinical laboratory of the Queen’s Hospital in Honolulu. When Pearl Harbor was bombed on Sunday, December 7, 1941, she was the only technician on duty, with a Japanese aide. Her life before and during the war, and her married life after the war on the Island of Maui, in the rain forest and on a sugar plantation, are vividly described.view less
