He was born in a deeply rooted Catholic family in Southern Brazil. In 1950, Caio Miranda became the press secretary of Brazil.
Several years after casual contact with yoga in 1937, he began teaching to friends and acquaintances at his home. In 1958, the growing demand for his lectures required and compelled him to open the Rio de Janeiro Yoga Institute in Ipanema, as well as a number of branches throughout Brazil, Portugal, and Argentina.
As a General, Caio Miranda retired from the Brazilian Armed Forces to dedicate his life entirely to the practice and study of yoga. His legacy to his readers is the promise of a better quality of life and health, a greater sense of responsibility, and a more refined and expanded consciousness.view less
