Delisa Y. Jones was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She was educated in the Detroit Public School system, graduating from Murray Wright High School, class of 1982. She decide...view moreDelisa Y. Jones was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She was educated in the Detroit Public School system, graduating from Murray Wright High School, class of 1982. She decided to pursue a career in the US Navy after employment with CBS TV2 Detroit. During her twenty-year career, she traveled the world. She received numerous medals and honors, but her proudest moment was making the transition to chief petty officer.
A true poetry connoisseur, she wrote and published Pleasure Pain & Poetry in 2008. She took a hiatus from writing to pursue a second bachelor’s degree. She graduated magna cum laude from Baker College in June 2012. Delisa currently lives in Westland, Michigan. The city of Detroit and the Motown Sound are deeply rooted in her soul.view less
