At the age of twelve, Eunique developed a passion for reading when she discovered such authors as Maya Angelou, Peri Thomas, Louise Jenkins, Claude Brown and Alice Childress.
While reading these books, she felt a deep connection and an understanding of their stories, because they wrote life, as she knew it in Harlem. She was able to visualize and associate neighborhoods with its street life.
It was not until later in life that she attended and graduated from Plaza College, where her Creative Writing teacher discovered she had a talent for writing fiction and suggested she continue to do so.
Not only does she enjoy reading, she sits quietly and enjoys writing from her dining room table.view less
