He was a member, Land Allocation Advisory Committee of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria; honorable councilor and supervisor (commissioner) of Ikot Abasi Local Government, Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria.
He served as editor and columnist for the Nigerian Chronicle, the Community News, and the Gong; administrative secretary of the Ikpaisong Development Association. A former chief personnel and electoral officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria, Nsikan later served as a volunteer special advocate for the New York City Family Court System and later as special investigator for the City of New York.
He was Akwa Ibom State secretary of the now named American Graduates Association; president of Mboho Edemaya in America. As a community leader, he also served his people as president of the New York Chapter and national vice president of the Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria USA, Inc.
He is the author of Government Simplified, and African Names In Ibibio Language. As a poet, he has fancied the award-winning poem, Farewell 20 th Century, published in "A Trusting Heart" by the International Library of Poetry, Maryland, USA
