Steven Timothy was born the fifth of seven children, in Price, Utah. His father taught school during the winter, and worked in the coal mine during the summer.
Growing up with the disability called dyslexia, Steven had a difficult time reading and writing. So, to compensate, he would pick up picture books and pretend to read while embellishing the stories with his version of what really happened.
Through his teenage years, little children would come to his house from all over his home town, Sugar City, Idaho: population 560, and ask if he could come out to play and tell them stories. One old neighbor lady called him the Pied Piper.
Despite his reading problem, he graduated from college with a Master’s Degree in Industrial Education. Steven has taught school, over the last thirty-eight years, in Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Wyoming, and Colorado.
All his life, Steven loved to make up stories, but with dyslexia, he knew he would never be able to record them on paper. Then came the great, dyslexia-proof, user-friendly, spell checking, grammar correcting computer, and life started all over again.view less
