Over the years they’ve had a number dogs and cats, all but one strays, not to mention the variety of song birds, deer, squirrels, and pesky woodchucks that live on their property. The stray in this story came into their lives after their marriage in 1997. He was the only pet they adopted together and worked his way into their hearts and lives. As the one pet in the family, he received the attention and daily interaction with the authors that make the telling of this story possible. Carmen was born in Argentina and grew up in Paraguay. She is an artist and uses her cartoons to communicate with her brothers and sisters in South America via the internet. She’s also well-known for her homemade bread and authentic Paraguayan cooking which she shares with her extended family, friends, and neighbors. Jim is a retired Air Force officer and rocket engineer. He teaches school part time, enjoys working on and riding his two old British motorcycles, and loves to sit down to one of Carmen’s meals.view less
