A book inspired in part by the students I have the honor of working with, but most of all, it is inspired by my mother for
whom the title character is named. Laughter is a gift, which my mother has always shared with those around her.
Although, I have not always seen it that way- much in the same way the stories antagonist felt about Lil' Phyllis' loud and
contagious laughter. Written in verse and illustrated by the author himself, this book has a continuity and rhythm
all its own. An offbeat telling of an original tale, that is relatable to children and adults alike because
the expression of laughter is universal. Look for this story to be retold in languages all around the world.
