From the Publisher

In this short story, a grown son reflects on his father’s liberating final days. The author takes us to the edge of a Catskill creek and its teeming natural life in which his father fished for fifty years. He imagines the old man’s thoughts and a life fully lived—a life in which he intended to be in charge until its last moments. For this story Woodstock, NY resident, naturalist and writer, Peter Koch was awarded a scholarship to the Vermont-based Wild branch Workshop in Outdoor, Natural History and Environmental Writing.
